Lead DevOps Engineer
About the role
The Lead DevOps Engineer will be responsible for leading and mentoring DevOps engineers and trainees, providing technical guidance, and overseeing the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines. The role involves automating infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure across GCP, Azure, and AWS, and overseeing containerization and orchestration with Docker and Kubernetes. The position also requires implementing security best practices, collaborating with cross-functional teams, leading incident response, and driving the adoption of DevSecOps and cloud-native engineering best practices. The employer is InTalent Asia, recruiting for a client in the Information Technology & Software Engineering industry, with the position based in Sri Lanka and a hybrid work arrangement.
Must have
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8+ years of professional experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, SecOps, System Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven hands-on experience managing cloud infrastructure, particularly GCP and/or Azure environments.
- Strong experience with CI/CD tools, container platforms, and configuration management solutions.
- Deep understanding of: Cloud Security, Cloud Networking, Cloud Database Services, System Architecture, Infrastructure Reliability, Platform Engineering, Scalability & Performance Optimization.
- Strong scripting experience using Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages.
- Excellent leadership, communication, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional technology teams.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities
Nice to have
- Professional certifications in GCP, Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, or related technologies.
- Strong experience with ArgoCD, Jenkins, and modern CI/CD practices.
- Experience working in Agile development environments.
- Practical experience implementing DevSecOps practices.
- Exposure to modern cloud-native architectures and automated infrastructure environments.
