Junior AI/ Automation Engineer – Build Smart Automations & AI-Powered Tools!
About the role
The Junior AI/Automation Engineer at Elephant Teams will work remotely from Sri Lanka, collaborating directly with clients to build and maintain business automations, connect business systems, and develop internal tools that streamline operations. The role involves building HubSpot workflows, integrating CRMs via APIs and webhooks, developing lightweight web applications using Python and frontend technologies, and leveraging AI-assisted coding tools. The ideal candidate will have foundational coding skills, an automation mindset, and a willingness to learn and experiment with new technologies. Must have
- 2 -3 Years of basic to intermediate knowledge of Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages, with an interest in developing practical business solutions.
- An interest in automating repetitive tasks, improving workflows, and reducing manual data entry.
- A basic understanding of APIs, webhooks, or how different software applications communicate with one another.
- The ability to break down problems, troubleshoot issues, and work towards practical solutions.
- A proactive attitude towards learning new technologies, experimenting with tools, and applying feedback.
- The ability to test solutions carefully and ensure automations handle data accurately.
- Good written and verbal English, with the ability to understand requirements and communicate progress clearly.
Nice to have
- Experience creating workflows or automations in HubSpot or another CRM platform.
- Experience using Python scripts to automate data entry, data processing, or repetitive tasks.
- Familiarity with Claude, Claude Code, or other AI-assisted coding tools.
- Basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or frontend development.
- Exposure to Vercel, Supabase, or similar application deployment and backend platforms.
- Experience working with REST APIs, webhooks, or third-party integrations.
- Personal projects, prototypes, GitHub repositories, or other examples demonstrating your ability to build and improve technical solutions.
