Lead DevOps Engineer - AWS
About the role
The Lead DevOps Engineer - AWS will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of AWS cloud infrastructure, driving DevOps automation, and ensuring platform reliability and security across multiple digital products and services. This hands-on technical leadership role involves mentoring engineers, optimizing CI/CD pipelines, and collaborating with various teams to support business-critical applications. The ideal candidate will have 6-10 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, and Infrastructure Automation, with a strong background in AWS, Infrastructure as Code, and automation scripting.
Must have
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud environments.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Development, UAT, and Production environments.
- Develop and enhance automation solutions using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and related technologies.
- Manage AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, IAM, WAF, and other cloud-native services where required.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and security using CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and related monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, networking, and application platform issues.
- Implement cloud security best practices, access controls, governance standards, and compliance requirements.
- Support application deployments, release management processes, and environment management activities.
- Work closely with software engineers to improve deployment efficiency, system reliability, and operational performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative measures for recurring incidents.
- Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
- Evaluate new cloud technologies and recommend improvements to existing infrastructure and DevOps processes.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers while promoting DevOps best practices across teams.
- Participate in production support activities and provide after-hours support when required.
