About the role

The Associate Software Engineer (NestJs + React) at iLabs will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing web applications using NestJS, React, and Laravel. The role involves building and integrating RESTful APIs, developing responsive front-end interfaces, working with various databases, troubleshooting technical issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have 1–2 years of professional software development experience, hands-on experience with NestJS and React, and proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive web development. The position is on-site in Battaramulla and offers the opportunity to work in a global software product engineering company with a focus on innovation and impactful solutions.

Must have

1–2 years of professional software development experience.
Hands-on experience with NestJS and React, along with knowledge of PHP and Laravel.
Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, and responsive web development.
Hands-on experience with MySQL, MongoDB, and OrientDB, including database design, data modeling, and querying.
Experience building and consuming RESTful APIs.
Working knowledge of Git, including branching, merging, and pull requests.
Understanding of object-oriented programming, MVC architecture, and software design principles.
Familiarity with authentication, authorization, web security, testing, debugging, caching, and queues.
Basic understanding of microservices architecture and Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools, such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or Gemini, within development workflows.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Ability to write clean, maintainable code and learn new technologies.

Nice to have

Knowledge of or experience with ArangoDB.
Familiarity with Linux environments, cloud platforms,CMS and application deployment.
