Lead Devops Engineer
About the role
The Lead Devops Engineer Azure role is responsible for building and managing scalable, secure, automated, and highly reliable cloud platforms on Azure. The position involves developing reusable automation, libraries, and templates using C# and Python, implementing DevSecOps practices, and establishing SRE practices such as monitoring, alerting, and incident management. The engineer will also drive cloud cost optimization and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure reliable platform operations. The role requires strong hands-on experience with Azure and Kubernetes technologies, as well as proficiency in automation and security tools.
Must have
- 2+ years of enterprise Azure experience – Mandatory
- Strong hands-on experience with AKS, Azure Container Apps, VNets, ACR, Key Vault, Entra ID, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud and Azure Monitor
- Strong Kubernetes experience including Helm, RBAC, network policies, deployments and StatefulSets
- Hands-on experience with Terraform and Crossplane
- Strong knowledge of ArgoCD, Azure DevOps YAML pipelines and GitOps
- Proficiency in Azure CLI, PowerShell, Bash, kubectl, Helm, Terraform, Git and Docker
- Experience with Snyk, SonarQube, workload identity and container image security
- Knowledge of Azure SQL, PostgreSQL, Cosmos DB and secure private connectivity
Nice to have
- Exposure to Backstage, .NET and/or Python is an added advantage
