Data Engineer
About the role
As a Data Engineer at Hemas Holdings PLC, you will be responsible for managing and continuously improving the Group's Databricks data lake, supporting business unit data teams, and consolidating platforms into a unified, scalable data environment. Key responsibilities include evolving and optimizing the enterprise data lake, building and improving ETL/ELT pipelines, strengthening data quality and governance, monitoring pipeline performance, and enabling business and analytics teams with curated data. The role requires a relevant bachelor's degree, 2–5 years of experience in data engineering or related fields, hands-on experience with Databricks and Spark, and familiarity with Azure Data Factory. Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and stakeholder communication skills are also essential.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or related field.
- 2–5 years’ experience in data engineering, business intelligence or data platform administration.
- Databricks experience plus hands-on Spark, ingestion and transformation.
- Familiarity with Azure Data Factory and understanding of governance, access control and data quality.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, problem-solving and technical/business stakeholder communication skills.
