QA Engineer Intern
About the role
VisionRoot (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a QA Engineer Intern to join their team. This internship is designed for students or early-career technology enthusiasts interested in gaining practical experience in software quality assurance, software testing, test automation, API testing, and quality engineering. The intern will work closely with software engineers, AI engineers, business analysts, UI/UX designers, and project managers to ensure software products are reliable, functional, secure, and user-friendly. Responsibilities include creating and maintaining test cases and documentation, performing manual and API testing, reporting bugs, assisting with automated test cases, and participating in Agile activities. The role offers mentorship, hands-on experience, and exposure to modern technologies in a collaborative environment.
Must have
- Currently pursuing a degree or higher education in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of Software Testing and Quality Assurance concepts.
- Basic understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
- Familiarity with different software testing types and techniques.
- Basic understanding of test cases, test scenarios, defect reporting, and test execution.
- Basic understanding of REST APIs and HTTP methods.
- Familiarity with Postman or similar API testing tools.
- Basic understanding of databases and SQL.
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub.
- Basic understanding of web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to think from both a technical and end-user perspective.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
- Strong willingness to learn and improve testing skills.
- Genuine interest in software quality and building reliable applications.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, Jest, JUnit, or NUnit.
- Experience writing automated tests using JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, Python, or C#.
- Experience with Postman collections, environments, and automated API testing.
- Familiarity with API testing and tools such as Swagger/OpenAPI.
- Basic understanding of unit testing, integration testing, end-to-end testing, and test automation.
- Familiarity with Jira, Trello, ClickUp, or other issue-tracking tools.
- Experience with GitHub Issues or similar defect-tracking workflows.
- Basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines and automated testing in CI/CD.
- Familiarity with GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.
- Basic understanding of performance testing and tools such as JMeter or k6.
- Basic understanding of accessibility and usability testing.
- Familiarity with browser developer tools.
- Experience testing web applications, mobile applications, APIs, or AI-powered applications.
- Interest in AI testing, LLM evaluation, chatbot testing, or Generative AI quality assurance.
- Understanding of Agile/Scrum practices.
- Personal, university, or open-source projects demonstrating testing or QA skills is an advantage.
