Quality Engineering Lead
About the role
The Quality Engineering Lead is responsible for defining and driving the overall Quality Engineering strategy to align with business and technology objectives. This role leads test planning, quality reviews, risk assessments, and release readiness activities across multiple projects and teams. The position involves designing and implementing comprehensive test strategies, establishing automation-first testing practices, and driving the adoption of AI-assisted testing solutions. The Quality Engineering Lead will also define and monitor key quality metrics, collaborate with cross-functional teams, lead release governance activities, and mentor a team of Quality Engineers. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in quality engineering leadership, test automation, data quality testing, and a strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.
Must have
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- 6-7+ years of experience in Quality Engineering, with at least 2+ years in a QE Lead, Associate Lead, or similar leadership role.
- Proven experience defining and executing enterprise-scale test strategies for data platforms, integrations, APIs, and distributed systems.
- Strong experience with test automation frameworks and automation-first delivery models.
- Experience in Data Quality Testing, ETL Testing, Data Migration Testing, Database Testing, and Data Validation frameworks.
- Experience designing and implementing automation solutions using Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Git, Maven, SonarQube, and related platforms.
- Experience in performance engineering and performance testing tools.
- Strong knowledge of software testing processes, practices and test design techniques.
- A solid practical understanding of Agile Software Testing and Software Engineering concepts.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thirst for learning and regularly updating knowledge.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as ISTQB, PMI-ACP or CSM (Certified Scrum Master) would be an added advantage.
