Quality Assurance Manager
About the role
The Quality Assurance Manager at The SM Records Ltd will oversee quality standards and processes across digital distribution, rights management, and content operations to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance. Responsibilities include designing and maintaining QA frameworks, developing test plans, conducting manual and automated testing, reviewing metadata and royalty reports, coordinating root-cause analysis, and implementing corrective and preventive actions. The role also involves collaborating with various teams to define quality KPIs, document procedures, provide training, and drive continuous improvement. The position is full-time and hybrid, based in Colombo, with flexibility to work from home part of the week.
Must have
- Experience in quality assurance, quality control, or process improvement, preferably in digital media, technology, or related industries.
- Strong skills in developing QA frameworks, test plans, and test cases, with familiarity in manual and automated testing tools.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and interpret reports, including experience with spreadsheets, dashboards, and basic analytics.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Demonstrated problem-solving mindset, with experience in root-cause analysis and corrective action planning.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Quality Management, Business, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment in Colombo, with readiness to coordinate both in-person and remote activities.
Nice to have
- Knowledge of digital distribution workflows, content management systems, or rights management processes is an advantage.
- Familiarity with quality standards or frameworks (such as ISO or similar practices) is beneficial.
