Forward Deployed Electrical Engineer
About the role
The Forward Deployed Electrical Engineer will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Oversight energy intelligence platform, delivering existing projects, and supporting the acquisition of new ones. The role involves end-to-end deployment of Oversight, including project scoping, scheduling, site rollouts, hardware installation, and client sign-off. The engineer will serve as the main point of contact for utility and commercial clients, translate client needs into requirements for internal teams, build and manage a sales pipeline, lead demos, write proposals, and track project milestones and budgets. The position is central to the company's growth in the energy sector, particularly in Sri Lanka and international markets.
Must have
- A degree in Electrical Engineering (power or electronics). This is essential.
- 3 to 6 years in a role related to electrical engineering
- A working knowledge of PV systems, inverters, distribution networks, and how utilities in Sri Lanka operate
- The confidence to be as convincing in a room of utility engineers as you are with a business owner
- Clear written and spoken (fluency is a must) English.
- Willingness to travel to client sites across Sri Lanka
Nice to have
- Experience with SCADA, IoT devices or communication protocols such as Modbus
- Tender or grant writing experience
