About the role
This role is for a Senior QA Tester at one of Australia's leading telecommunications and network service providers. The position involves designing, developing, and executing manual and automated test cases for web applications, APIs, and backend systems. The Senior QA Tester will validate system functionality, performance, and reliability, create and maintain automated test suites, perform API testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Additional responsibilities include defect management, continuous improvement of QA practices, and mentoring junior QA team members. The company provides enterprise-grade connectivity, cloud, and managed network solutions, and the engineering team supports digital platforms critical to customer and partner experiences.
Must have
- 5+ years of professional experience in software QA, testing, or related roles.
- Strong understanding of QA methodologies, testing processes, and Agile software development.
- Hands-on experience with test automation tools (Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or similar).
- Experience testing web applications, APIs, and backend systems.
- Proficiency in using Postman or similar tools for API validation and load testing.
- Working knowledge of SQL for backend data verification and validation.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to think critically and identify edge cases.
