Lead Security Engineer
About the role
The Lead Security Engineer will play a key role in supporting the Security Operations Center (SOC) for a data and technology organization serving the Financial Services Industry. The position involves securing both cloud and on-premises environments, managing endpoint and email security, and supporting threat detection, incident response, and compliance initiatives. Responsibilities include implementing and managing security controls across Azure, AWS, and hybrid environments, monitoring security alerts, developing automation playbooks, conducting vulnerability scans, and collaborating with DevOps teams to integrate security into CI/CD pipelines. The role also involves supporting compliance initiatives such as SOC 2 and ISO 27001.
Must have
- 6+ years of experience in security operations, including cloud and endpoint security.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Defender, and Intune.
- Knowledge of SOC 2, ISO 27001, and vulnerability management.
- Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, or Terraform.
- Knowledge of IAM, RBAC, and network security.
Nice to have
- KQL experience for Azure Sentinel is an advantage.
- Familiarity with Logic Apps for security automation is an advantage.
- Certifications such as AZ-500, CEH, or AWS Security Specialty are an advantage.
