Senior Quality Assurance Engineer
About the role
The Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at EFL will be responsible for designing and executing test strategies and test cases across both manual and automated testing environments. The role involves improving test coverage, standards, and efficiency, reviewing test designs and automation code, and evolving test architecture and frameworks. The engineer will also use AI tools and coding assistants to enhance workflows, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and share knowledge through code reviews and documentation. The position is based at the company headquarters in Colombo, Sri Lanka, and is part of a global supply chain solutions provider.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree or above in Computer Science, Information Management, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in QA and test automation.
- Strong JavaScript/TypeScript skills and solid manual testing experience, including test case design and execution.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, or similar.
- Familiarity with Web API and web application testing, with working knowledge of SQL for data validation.
- Proven experience leading end-to-end test strategies for projects.
- Demonstrated experience using AI tools to improve testing workflows, with the ability to evaluate their output critically.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills, with the ability to distinguish product defects from test issues.
- Good understanding of testing methodologies, with strong collaboration and communication skills.
- A proactive approach to ownership, practical decision-making, continuous learning, and knowledge sharing.
