Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack | Java Script +Spring Boot + React)
About the role
OXO Tech is seeking a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) with expertise in Java, Spring Boot, React, and JavaScript. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining scalable frontend and backend features, building RESTful APIs, and working with complex datasets and computational workflows. The successful candidate will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, including technical design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support. The position also includes mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have a strong background in software engineering, with 5–8+ years of experience and a relevant degree or equivalent experience. Must have
- Strong commercial experience in Java, Spring Boot, and RESTful API development.
- Strong understanding of OOP, design patterns, SOLID, and clean-code principles.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases, database design, and query optimization.
- Experience with JUnit, Mockito, API security, authentication, and authorization.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript (ES6+) and Vanilla JavaScript.
- Hands-on commercial experience with React and reusable component development.
- Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS, DOM, browser APIs, asynchronous programming, and client-server communication.
- Experience with frontend performance optimization, responsive design, accessibility, and browser compatibility.
- Strong understanding of scalable architecture, distributed systems, and maintainable software design.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with legacy application modernization, performance optimization, caching, and scalability.
- Familiarity with logging, monitoring, metrics, Git, and code reviews.
- Experience with AWS or other cloud platforms, Docker, CI/CD, and automated deployments.
- Strong focus on clean, testable, and maintainable code.
- Experience with automated testing, code reviews, secure coding, and production reliability.
- Ability to identify and address security risks and technical issues.
- Ability to take ownership of complex technical problems and provide technical leadership.
- Experience mentoring junior/mid-level engineers and improving engineering practices.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5–8+ years of professional software development experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, JavaScript, and React.
- Experience with legacy/established applications and business-critical production systems.
Nice to have
- Experience with statistics, analytics, scientific computing, financial analytics, educational technology, or other data-intensive applications is an advantage.
- Exposure to complex datasets, statistical calculations, data transformations, visualizations, and computationally intensive operations is beneficial.
- Strong focus on data accuracy, numerical precision, and performance.
- Knowledge of monitoring, observability, infrastructure-as-code, and cloud-based services is an advantage.
- Background in Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, or related fields.
- Experience with statistical, analytical, scientific, financial, or computation-heavy applications.
- Experience with data visualization, AWS, cloud-native architectures, accessibility standards (WCAG), or large-scale SaaS platforms.
- Experience modernizing legacy JavaScript/React or Java/Spring applications.
