Tech Lead - AI
About the role
The Tech Lead – AI will support the bank’s existing and new initiatives related to AI and Data Science, with a focus on Model-Centric AI Engineering and MLOps. The role involves governing the end-to-end lifecycle of internal AI applications both on-premise and on cloud, validating complex vendor models, mentoring the internal AI team, and ensuring robust, monitored microservices for predictive math. Key responsibilities include designing scalable AI systems, overseeing vendor models, mentoring the AI team, and maintaining high engineering standards in coding, testing, documentation, and governance. Candidates should have a relevant degree, significant hands-on AI engineering experience, and prior technical leadership roles.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in a hands-on AI Engineering-related role.
- Previous roles: Tech Lead – AI/ML, Senior Data Scientist, Senior Engineer – AI/ML, or similar technical lead role.
- Programming: Python
- ML/AI Frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, LLM frameworks, Agentic AI
- MLOps & Cloud: GCP, MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Airflow
- Governance: Model cards, XAI tools, differential privacy, regulatory model validation
- Ability to fit into the Combank organization & IT culture.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Ability to guide a team, provide mentorship, and foster collaboration.
Nice to have
- Experience in the finance domain is an added advantage.
