About the role
The Assistant General Manager (IT) - Special Grade at National Savings Bank (NSB) is responsible for developing and implementing the bank's IT strategy, overseeing core banking systems, IT infrastructure, and digital banking platforms. The role involves leading technology modernization, ensuring cybersecurity, compliance with regulations, managing IT projects and budgets, and strengthening IT risk management and service quality. Candidates must have advanced degrees and significant experience in IT within the banking sector, with a strong background in IT strategy, digital transformation, and project management. The position offers a permanent appointment with an attractive remuneration package and various benefits.
Must have
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or any other discipline relevant to Information Technology, from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka.
- A Master’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field from a university recognized by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka.
- A minimum of 15 years of experience in Information Technology including at least five years in a managerial capacity within a financial institution regulated by the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).
- Extensive knowledge of banking technology systems, IT infrastructure, software development, database management, and cybersecurity.
- Proven experience in IT strategy, digital transformation, IT project management, and the implementation and maintenance of core banking systems.
- Should be a Sri Lankan citizen.
Nice to have
- Professional qualifications in IT, cybersecurity, project management, or information systems will be an added advantage.

Applicants must be Sri Lankan citizens. The position is permanent, subject to a one-year probation. The monthly remuneration exceeds Rs. 600,000, with additional benefits such as annual and performance bonuses, medical assistance, housing loans, pension schemes, and reimbursement of professional fees.
