Senior Power BI Developer
About the role
The Senior Power BI Developer will design, develop, and maintain business intelligence solutions for an Australian client, working remotely. The role involves transforming enterprise data into actionable dashboards and analytical models, collaborating with stakeholders across Finance, HR, and Operations, and building robust ETL pipelines. Responsibilities include creating advanced Power BI dashboards, developing data models, managing ETL workflows, ensuring data integrity and security, and mentoring junior engineers. Candidates should have a strong background in business intelligence or data analytics, particularly within Finance, Accounting, or HR, and possess advanced skills in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and SQL.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field (relevant Microsoft/Power BI certifications are an advantage).
- Advanced hands-on proficiency with Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and SQL for relational database querying and management.
- Strong grasp of data warehousing architecture, schema design (star and snowflake), data mart structures, and query optimization techniques.
- Proven track record of developing and maintaining robust ETL data pipelines across diverse data sources.
- Background in business intelligence or data analytics within Finance, Accounting, or HR functions.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with demonstrated ability to convey complex technical findings to non-technical business stakeholders.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills, strong attention to detail, and a commitment to data quality, governance, and security standards.
