Senior DevOps Engineer – Trading Platform
About the role
The Senior DevOps Engineer will be responsible for the reliability, deployment, and observability of a high-performance digital asset trading platform that connects to multiple global exchanges in real time. The role involves operating and supporting Java backend services, ensuring production stability, managing database engineering with PostgreSQL, building monitoring and alerting systems, and owning CI/CD and release management processes. The engineer will collaborate closely with backend engineers and the program team, and will also document infrastructure and operational procedures. The company offers a collaborative and fast-moving engineering environment with a high degree of ownership and direct impact on production systems, and provides a very competitive remuneration package. Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering
- Proven experience supporting Java backend applications in high-performance, mission-critical production environments
- Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL, including replication, performance tuning, backup/restore, and troubleshooting
- Solid experience configuring monitoring and alerting with tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, ELK, or similar
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, containerization (Docker), and orchestration (Kubernetes or equivalent)
- Proficiency with Linux, networking fundamentals (proxies, load balancers, DNS, TLS), and scripting (Bash, Python)
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP or Azure)
Nice to have
- Experience in capital markets, trading systems, or financial services
- Familiarity with exchange connectivity, market data feeds, WebSocket streaming or the FIX protocol
- Experience with digital asset/crypto exchange APIs or custody integrations
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform, Ansible)
- Experience supporting Node.js services alongside Java
