Linux Systems Administrator
About the role
Elevex Technologies (Pvt) Ltd is seeking a Linux Systems Administrator (DevOps) to manage and maintain production Linux environments, virtualisation infrastructure, databases, application servers, deployment automation, email systems, and disaster recovery processes. The role involves hands-on administration of RHEL/Rocky Linux and Debian/Ubuntu systems, KVM/libvirt virtualisation, MariaDB/MySQL and PostgreSQL databases, and Docker-based deployments. The successful candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting complex issues, improving automation, ensuring infrastructure security and reliability, and supporting client deployments. The position offers end-to-end ownership of infrastructure, direct collaboration with leadership, exposure to enterprise workloads, and support for professional development.
Must have
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience administering production Linux systems independently.
- Strong experience with RHEL/Rocky Linux and Debian/Ubuntu.
- Practical production experience with KVM/libvirt virtualisation.
- Strong knowledge of MySQL/MariaDB and PostgreSQL, including replication, backup, restoration, and troubleshooting.
- Experience configuring and maintaining Nginx, Apache, PHP-FPM, TLS, and DNS.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and container-based deployments.
- Strong Bash scripting skills and working knowledge of Python or Go.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD pipeline development and maintenance.
- Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and network troubleshooting.
- Practical knowledge of monitoring, logging, backup verification, and disaster recovery.
- Ability to investigate production incidents independently and make sound technical decisions.
- Strong documentation skills, with the ability to create clear procedures and runbooks.

- Ansible or Terraform for infrastructure automation.
- Percona Toolkit.
- pgBackRest or Barman.
- Prometheus, Grafana, or Zabbix.
- AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Laravel applications running in production.
