Associate Engineer – Platform SRE
About the role
The Associate Engineer – Platform SRE at London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) is responsible for supporting, maintaining, automating, and continuously improving Microsoft Windows server and platform infrastructure across various environments, including on-premises, hybrid-cloud, and public-cloud. The role emphasizes platform reliability, operational support, automation, monitoring, security, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include providing Level 2 and Level 3 support for Windows platform incidents, performing root-cause analysis, supporting and troubleshooting Windows technologies, patching, security updates, vulnerability remediation, and developing automation using PowerShell and Python. The position also involves using ITIL/ITSM practices, supporting cloud and virtualization technologies, and participating in shift, weekend, and on-call support as required. Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant professional experience in Windows Server administration, infrastructure support, platform engineering, Site Reliability Engineering, cloud operations or a similar technical environment.
- Practical experience supporting Microsoft Windows Server infrastructure.
- Good understanding of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and Windows operating-system administration.
- Experience with ITIL/ITSM operational practices, particularly Incident, Problem and Change Management.
- Experience with or exposure to ServiceNow or a similar ITSM platform.
- Practical scripting or automation experience using PowerShell.
- Exposure to Python or a strong interest in developing Python-based automation.
- Good troubleshooting, analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a production-support environment.
