Database Engineer
About the role
The Database Engineer at Aventrix BPO will be responsible for administering, monitoring, and optimizing live production and sandbox database systems, ensuring compliance with established SLAs. The role involves formulating and executing backup and restoration strategies, implementing robust database security measures, managing high-availability and disaster recovery setups, and providing technical consulting to application teams. The position also requires maintaining technical compliance records for regulatory and internal reviews. Candidates will join a modern, collaborative environment supporting major GCC conglomerates and infrastructure groups, with direct exposure to international financial engineering workflows.
Must have
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- 5+ years of comprehensive database administration (DBA) experience, preferably within a regulated financial ecosystem.
- Advanced expertise handling SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or MySQL variants; knowledge of NoSQL ecosystems is a plus. Familiarity with high-availability and disaster recovery setups (such as Always On, Data Guard, and multi-site replication).
- Foundational understanding of the Regulator Cyber Security Framework and IT Governance guidelines. Platform-specific database credentials or broader security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CCSP) are an asset.
- Proficient in writing, reviewing, and optimizing complex database functions and triggers. Experience performing live database migrations and structural schema adaptations with minimal downtime.
