About the role
The Lead Security Engineer will be responsible for maintaining, managing, and improving the security tools and controls owned by the Security team. This role involves handling day-to-day operations, resolving escalations, and collaborating with other teams to implement and support security controls. The position requires a strong foundation in networking, systems, and security fundamentals, as well as hands-on experience with security tools. The engineer will also contribute to improving the company's security architecture, perform routine hardening and patching, document procedures, and support audit and certification requirements.
Must have
- 4+ years of experience in IT, networking, systems administration, or security roles.
- Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (routing/switching, firewalls, VPNs).
- Basic-to-working knowledge of systems administration (Windows/Linux, Active Directory).
- Understanding of core security concepts (least privilege, defense in depth, common attack vectors, vulnerability management basics).
- Ability to learn and operate vendor security tools effectively (training will be provided on our specific stack).
- Good communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with other technical teams.
