Senior QA Engineer (Automation)
About the role
Decryptogen is seeking a Senior QA Engineer (Automation) to design, develop, and maintain automated UI test suites and frameworks, primarily using Playwright and TypeScript. The role involves building scalable automation frameworks, performing various types of testing (end-to-end, regression, functional, integration), maintaining Selenium WebDriver automation with Java, and developing API automation tests. The candidate will also integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to continuous improvement in engineering quality. The position offers the opportunity to work with modern automation technologies in a flexible remote or hybrid environment, with career growth and exposure to AI-driven QA practices.
Must have
- 4–8 years of experience in software testing and test automation.
- Strong hands-on experience with Playwright.
- Strong hands-on experience with TypeScript for test automation.
- Proven experience developing and maintaining Playwright automation frameworks.
- Experience creating end-to-end automated test scenarios for modern web applications.
- Working knowledge of Selenium WebDriver and Java.
- Experience with API automation testing using Playwright and/or Rest Assured.
- Experience in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of test automation architecture, framework design, and test coverage.
- Experience with Git-based version control systems such as GitLab or GitHub.
- Strong understanding of software testing processes, test design techniques, and the complete defect lifecycle.
- Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern web application architecture.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with TestNG, JUnit, Cucumber, or BDD frameworks.
- Experience with Maven, Gradle, SonarQube, or similar development and quality tools.
- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms such as BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
- Exposure to AI/ML-assisted testing approaches and tools.
- Experience with mobile application testing.
- Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, or k6.
- Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Knowledge of security testing tools such as OWASP ZAP or Burp Suite.
