Associate, Cloud Engineer (Intern)
About the role
Pearson is seeking a Cloud Engineer Intern to join their team, focusing on cloud computing, AWS, automation, DevOps, and modern cloud-native technologies. The intern will assist in designing, deploying, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure, support CI/CD pipeline development, automate infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code, and develop automation scripts in Python. The role also involves troubleshooting cloud and deployment issues, analyzing data, and documenting technical work. Candidates should be pursuing or have recently completed a relevant degree and possess strong programming and communication skills. The position offers hands-on experience with AWS, CI/CD, DevOps, and mentorship from experienced engineers.
Must have
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in AI, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Basic understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, application deployment, and pipeline issues
- Good problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD or other CI/CD tools
- Basic knowledge of Docker and container technologies
- Knowledge of networking concepts such as VPC, DNS, load balancers, and security groups
- Familiarity with APIs, backend development, or data pipelines
- Interest in education technology or assessment systems
