About the role
The AI Lecturer will be responsible for designing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions in artificial intelligence and related subjects to undergraduate and professional learners. Key duties include developing course materials, preparing assessments, guiding student projects, and providing academic support through consultations and feedback. The role also involves mentoring students, collaborating with academic staff, and contributing to curriculum development and industry partnerships. This is a part-time hybrid position based in Sri Lanka, combining on-campus teaching with remote tasks such as online sessions and grading. Candidates should have expertise in AI, machine learning, and data science, along with teaching and curriculum design skills.
Must have
- Candidates should possess strong subject-matter expertise in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Data Science concepts relevant to teaching and curriculum development.
- Candidates should possess skills in curriculum design, lesson planning, and assessment creation suitable for higher education or professional training.
- Candidates should possess effective teaching, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical topics in a clear, accessible manner.
- Candidates should possess practical skills in programming (e.g., Python or similar languages), AI tools, and applied problem-solving to support hands-on learning.
- Candidates should possess skills in student mentoring, academic guidance, and providing constructive feedback to support learner progress.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, manage time effectively, and collaborate with diverse colleagues and students within Sri Lanka is expected.
Nice to have
- Relevant academic qualifications such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or a closely related field are highly beneficial.
- Prior experience in teaching, training, or delivering workshops in AI or technology, preferably in a higher education or professional setting, is an advantage.
