Associate, Quality Assurance Engineer Intern
About the role
The Associate, Quality Assurance Engineer Intern at Pearson offers a six-month internship opportunity in Colombo, Sri Lanka, for students or recent graduates in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields. Interns will join an Agile team, gaining hands-on experience in software quality assurance, including both manual and automated testing, test case design, defect reporting, and exposure to industry-standard testing methodologies and tools. The role emphasizes learning and applying Agile and DevOps principles, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and developing technical skills in programming, automation, and databases. Must have
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in their third or final year, or recently graduated, in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Sound understanding of object-oriented programming concepts.
- Good understanding of software engineering principles and methodologies.
- Knowledge of at least one general-purpose programming language, such as Java, C#, or Python.
- General understanding of relational and/or NoSQL database technologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Ability to learn quickly, work independently, and apply new knowledge effectively.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and adapt to a dynamic and challenging environment.
- Interest in emerging technologies and industry trends, including cloud computing, virtualization, containerization, microservices architecture, and artificial intelligence.
- A positive, collaborative, and adaptable attitude, with a willingness to learn and work under the guidance of experienced team members.
Nice to have
- Experience or familiarity with artificial intelligence (AI) technologies is an advantage but is not required.

Highlights
