IT Intern – AI & Software Development
About the role
FITS Cargo is seeking an IT Intern to join their technology team and contribute to the development of AI-powered tools and internal software aimed at improving air cargo operations. The intern will participate in real projects, working on AI features such as demand forecasting, data extraction, and chat assistants, as well as developing web applications, APIs, and automation scripts. The role involves collaborating with various teams, documenting technical work, and adhering to data privacy standards. Candidates should be final-year undergraduates or recent graduates in a relevant field, with programming experience and a demonstrable project portfolio.
Must have
- Undergraduate (final year) or recent graduate in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Data Science or a related field
- Working knowledge of Python, plus at least one of JavaScript/TypeScript, Java or C#
- Understanding of machine learning basics: supervised learning, model evaluation and data preprocessing
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Basic experience with Git and GitHub
- At least one AI or software project (academic, personal or freelance) to show, with a GitHub link or portfolio
- Good written and spoken English
- Willingness to learn, take feedback and work in a team
Nice to have
- Experience with LLM APIs (such as OpenAI, Anthropic or Gemini) or frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex
- Knowledge of ML libraries such as scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow or Hugging Face Transformers
- Experience with OCR or document AI tools
- Web frameworks such as React, Django, Flask, FastAPI or Node.js
- Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure or Google Cloud) and Docker
- Experience building REST APIs
- Interest in aviation, logistics or supply chain technology
