Senior Mobile Engineer - IOS (BFSI)
About the role
Surge Global is seeking a Senior Mobile Engineer specializing in iOS to join their team in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The role involves building, enhancing, and maintaining native iOS applications using Swift, with a focus on modern development best practices and security, particularly for financial and banking applications. Must have
- At least 4 years of experience in native iOS application development, with applications published and live on the Apple App Store.
- Strong proficiency in Swift and hands-on experience with modern iOS development frameworks and tools.
- Experience with SwiftUI or UIKit, supported by a clear understanding of modern application architecture and design principles.
- Hands-on experience integrating RESTful APIs and implementing offline capabilities, robust error handling, and resilient application flows.
- Solid understanding of mobile application security fundamentals, particularly for financial and banking applications.
- Practical experience with automated testing frameworks, including XCTest and XCUITest.
- Strong understanding of application performance optimization, stability, maintainability, and production-quality development practices.
- Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and take ownership of features from implementation through testing and release.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering secure, reliable, and user-friendly applications.
Nice to have
- Experience developing mobile applications in banking, payments, fintech, or other regulated industries.
- Experience implementing biometric authentication, device-binding flows, electronic Know Your Customer (e-KYC), or document-capture functionality.
- Familiarity with Apple App Store review processes, TestFlight distribution, and release management.
- Experience monitoring production application performance, investigating crashes, and improving application stability.
