Lead DevOps Engineer - AWS
About the role
The Lead DevOps Engineer - AWS will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and management of AWS cloud infrastructure for multiple digital products and services. This hands-on technical leadership role involves driving DevOps initiatives, cloud automation, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, as well as optimizing CI/CD pipelines and ensuring platform reliability, security, and operational excellence. The position requires 6-10 years of experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, and Infrastructure Automation. The successful candidate will also mentor junior engineers and collaborate with various teams to support business-critical applications.
Must have
- Design, deploy, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available AWS cloud environments.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
- Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Development, UAT, and Production environments.
- Develop and enhance automation solutions using PowerShell, Bash, Python, and related technologies.
- Manage AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, IAM, WAF, and other cloud-native services where required.
- Monitor platform performance, availability, and security using CloudWatch, AWS X-Ray, and related monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure, deployment, networking, and application platform issues.
- Implement cloud security best practices, access controls, governance standards, and compliance requirements.
- Support application deployments, release management processes, and environment management activities.
- Work closely with software engineers to improve deployment efficiency, system reliability, and operational performance.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement preventative measures for recurring incidents.
- Maintain technical documentation, deployment procedures, architecture diagrams, and operational runbooks.
- Evaluate new cloud technologies and recommend improvements to existing infrastructure and DevOps processes.
- Guide and mentor junior engineers while promoting DevOps best practices across teams.
- Participate in production support activities and provide after-hours support when required.
