About the role
The Senior AI/Automation Engineer at Elephant Teams is a full-time, remote role based in Sri Lanka, focused on building intelligent automations, AI-powered tools, and connecting business systems. The position involves taking ownership of automation projects, designing and developing solutions, integrating CRMs (especially HubSpot), and deploying internal tools using technologies like Python, HubSpot, Claude Code, Vercel, and Supabase. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in software development, automation engineering, or systems integration, with strong coding skills and a proven ability to automate workflows and connect applications. The role emphasizes technical ownership, problem-solving, and clear communication.
Must have
- 5+ years of experience in software development, automation engineering, or systems integration, with strong hands-on skills in Python, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
- Proven ability to automate repetitive tasks, improve workflows, and connect software applications using APIs, webhooks, and other integration methods.
- Experience using AI coding tools such as Claude or Claude Code to develop, test, troubleshoot, and improve practical business solutions.
- Ability to independently manage technical projects from requirements gathering and development through testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance.
- Strong focus on data accuracy, system reliability, and maintainable solutions, with good written and verbal English skills to understand requirements and communicate progress clearly.
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with HubSpot or other CRM workflow automations.
- Experience using Claude or Claude Code for AI-assisted development.
- Experience with Vercel, Supabase, or similar application deployment and backend platforms.
- Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, or other frontend technologies.
- Experience with API integrations, webhooks, and third-party application connectivity.
- Experience building internal tools for data entry, data processing, or business process automation.
- A portfolio of automation projects, internal tools, integrations, or code repositories.
