Junior System Administrator
About the role
The Junior System Administrator at myPOS Software Solutions (Pvt) Ltd will be responsible for administering and maintaining Windows and Linux server environments, managing Active Directory, installing and configuring Microsoft SQL Server, and troubleshooting network and system issues. The role involves working with cloud infrastructure, monitoring system health, applying updates, and maintaining documentation. The successful candidate will join a dynamic team in a full-time position, with opportunities to enhance their skills in a leading Point of Sales software solutions company.
Must have
- Diploma or equivalent qualification in IT, Computer Science, Networking or related field.
- Minimum 2 years of practical hands-on experience in System Administration or IT Infrastructure.
- Experience administering Windows and Linux server environments.
- Experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy and user administration.
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and PostgreSQL (database installation, configuration and maintenance).
- Good knowledge of networking concepts including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, VLANs, routing and firewalls.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as Hyper-V or VMware.
- Basic experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Experience with backup, restoration and disaster recovery solutions.
- Basic scripting knowledge using PowerShell or Bash.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness to continuously learn new technologies and modern infrastructure platforms.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
