Associate Information Security Engineer
About the role
The Associate Information Security Engineer – Network Security will be responsible for monitoring network security systems, responding to incidents, conducting security analysis, supporting security measures, and assisting in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing. The role also involves maintaining security policies, staying updated on cyber-security trends, conducting trainings, and implementing national cyber-security projects. Candidates must have a relevant bachelor's degree and at least one year of industry experience in information or cyber security. The position is with the Sri Lanka Computer Emergency Readiness Team (Sri Lanka CERT), which operates under the Ministry of Digital Economy and serves as the national CERT.
Must have
- A Bachelor’s Degree (SLQF 5 or 6) in Information Security, Cyber-Security, Computer Science, Information Technology or any other field relevant to the post, obtained from a local or foreign university, recognized by the University Grant Commission (UGC) in Sri Lanka.
- One (01) year or above industry experience in the field of information and Cyber security or relevant within a reputed private sector cyber-security service provider, public corporation, statutory board, fully government owned company, or a reputed commercial establishment, after obtaining the first Degree.
- Knowledge on the latest theories, standards, and practices on cyber security.
- Skills in using Application Security, Kali Linux tools, Burp Suite, Mobile Application tools.
- Writing and speaking in English language.
- Skills in presentations, communication, teamwork.
- Ability to perform in a team environment.
- Age should be not less than 20 years and not more than 30 years.
Nice to have
- Cyber-security Certification, preferably CompTIA Security+, CCNA Security or any other equivalent security certification relevant to the post, recognized by Sri Lanka CERT will be added advantage. Such certifications must be maintained in active status.
