About the role

The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will lead reporting development initiatives, focusing on Microsoft-based reporting technologies. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards, paginated reports, SSRS reports, and semantic models. The candidate will work closely with product teams to gather requirements, optimize SQL queries, mentor a team of developers, and ensure high standards of code quality and performance. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and staying updated with the latest Microsoft technologies are also key aspects of the role.

Must have

Strong hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining Power BI dashboards, and paginated reports for enterprise reporting and analytics solutions.
Strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server and SSRS, including complex SQL query development, stored procedures, performance tuning, report design, parameterized reporting, subscription, and report deployment.
In-depth knowledge of Power BI semantic models, DirectQuery, Import mode, data modeling best practices, and report performance optimization strategies.
Solid expertise in data modeling, data transformation, and BI solution development, including dimensional modeling, advanced DAX development, Power Query (M), and query optimization techniques.
Experience implementing and managing security and governance controls, including Row-Level Security (RLS), Object-Level Security (OLS), workspace administration, sensitivity labels, and data endorsement practices.
Experience leveraging AI-powered analytics capabilities, including Microsoft Copilot, Q&A visuals, Smart Narratives, and other AI-assisted reporting features.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex technical issues.
Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, mentoring, and technical leadership capabilities, with experience collaborating across business and technical teams.
Self-motivated, proactive, and results-oriented professional with strong ownership, collaboration skills, and adaptability to evolving technologies and business requirements.

Nice to have

Professional certifications such as PL-300 (Microsoft Power BI Data Analyst) and hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse architecture and modern analytics capabilities, will be considered an added advantage.
