Senior Business Analyst
About the role
The Senior Business Analyst role is a full-time position based in Colombo, Sri Lanka, focused on driving business analysis, requirements management, and functional delivery for enterprise-grade technology solutions in the Banking and Financial Services sector. The role involves leading business analysis activities, engaging with stakeholders, gathering and validating requirements, defining business processes, supporting core banking implementations, and guiding junior analysts. Candidates must have significant experience in banking delivery and business analysis, with a strong understanding of banking systems, integrations, and modern software development practices. Must have
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, Business Administration, Finance, Banking, or related field.
- 10+ years of overall experience in Business Analysis, Software Delivery, or Technology.
- 5+ years of banking delivery / Business Analysis experience within Banking & Financial Services.
- Proven experience in core banking implementations, migrations, integrations, transformation, or support.
- Strong knowledge of banking systems, payments, digital banking, and core banking integrations.
- Strong understanding of GL, Payments, Deposits, Lending, Leasing, and/or Capital Markets.
- Strong experience in requirements gathering, process analysis, functional specifications, data mapping, and stakeholder management.
- Experience working with enterprise applications and technology delivery teams.
- Good understanding of system integrations, APIs, databases, data flows, and enterprise applications.
- Hands-on experience in UAT, test scenarios, defect triage, functional validation, and business sign-off.
- Strong knowledge of Agile/Scrum and modern software development practices.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience with core banking platforms and large-scale banking transformation.
- Knowledge of APIs, Microservices, databases, architecture, and system integrations.
- Experience with BPMN, UML, process modelling, and workflow tools.
- Experience in digital banking, payments, financial systems, and banking integrations.
- Relevant Business Analysis, Banking, Agile, or technical certifications.
