Associate, Cloud Engineer (Intern)
About the role
Pearson is seeking a Cloud Engineer Intern to join their team, focusing on cloud computing, AWS, automation, DevOps, and modern cloud-native technologies. The intern will assist in designing, deploying, and maintaining AWS cloud infrastructure, support CI/CD pipeline development, work with Infrastructure as Code, develop automation scripts in Python, and document technical work. The role is ideal for students or recent graduates in AI, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields, with strong Python skills and an interest in cloud technologies. Pearson offers mentorship, hands-on experience with AWS and DevOps, and the opportunity to work on impactful projects in a collaborative environment.
Must have
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in AI, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or related field
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Basic understanding of Generative AI and Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, application deployment, and pipeline issues
- Good problem-solving and analytical thinking skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Nice to have
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Familiarity with GitLab CI/CD or other CI/CD tools
- Basic knowledge of Docker and container technologies
- Knowledge of networking concepts such as VPC, DNS, load balancers, and security groups
- Familiarity with APIs, backend development, or data pipelines
- Interest in education technology or assessment systems
