Senior Full-Stack / Backend Engineer (Java, Spring Boot & React)
About the role
Ceybertech is hiring a Senior Full-Stack / Backend Engineer (Java, Spring Boot & React) on an annual renewable contract to lead the development and scaling of an enterprise software platform. The role involves designing and maintaining scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot, integrating with a React/TypeScript frontend, managing cloud infrastructure with Docker and Kubernetes, and implementing automated CI/CD pipelines. The engineer will also enforce code quality through TDD, build secure RESTful APIs, manage PostgreSQL databases, and act as a technical liaison with clients. Candidates should have strong experience in backend and frontend development, cloud and DevOps, testing and security, and client engagement.
Must have
- 3 years of production experience with Java (17/21) and Spring Boot (Security, JPA, Async), microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
- Strong proficiency in React (18+), TypeScript, state management, and modern component libraries (Tailwind CSS).
- Practical experience with Docker, Kubernetes (K8s), cloud deployment (AWS/Azure), and automated CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or Jenkins).
- Active practitioner of Test-Driven Development (TDD) (JUnit, Mockito) with solid knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, and Role-Based Access Control (RBAC).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience presenting technical concepts, leading client demos, and working in agile environments.
Nice to have
- Experience with document generation / PDF rendering engines (Headless Chrome, or Puppeteer/Playwright).
- Familiarity with financial ledgers, transactional accounting engines, or automated queuing workflows.
- Knowledge of virtual threads (Project Loom) and reactive architecture.
