AI Developer
About the role
The AI Developer will join the AI & Product Engineering Team at CSG Technologies in Colombo, Sri Lanka, on a 6-month contract basis, with on-site or hybrid work options. The role involves designing and developing AI-powered scoring, classification, and decision-support solutions, building and maintaining data pipelines for AI models, developing LLM-powered assistants, and creating tools to track AI quality. The position requires collaboration with product, business, and subject-matter experts, and ensuring AI outputs are reproducible and auditable. Candidates should have relevant experience in software development, data science, or AI/ML, and hands-on experience with LLM/RAG projects. Must have
- 3+ years of relevant experience in software development, data science, or AI/ML.
- Experience building and shipping AI/ML-powered features in production.
- Hands-on experience with at least one LLM/RAG project (production or substantial prototype).
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or equivalent experience.
- Strong Python skills; Java, C#, or Node.js are also relevant.
- Solid SQL and relational database knowledge.
- Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs such as OpenAI, Anthropic, or Azure OpenAI.
- Experience with RAG, embeddings, and vector databases such as pgvector, Qdrant, Milvus, or Azure AI Search.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work through ambiguity and define practical solutions.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work directly with non-technical stakeholders and subject-matter experts.
- A focus on quality, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with LangChain or Semantic Kernel is an advantage.
- Knowledge of OCR/document intelligence tools is a plus.
- Comfortable with cloud infrastructure, containers, and CI/CD.
