About the role
Chama Computers (Pvt) Ltd is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to lead their centralized finance operations in Minuwangoda, Sri Lanka. The role involves overseeing daily accounting operations, supervising the finance team, and ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance, and internal controls. Key responsibilities include preparing management accounts, managing statutory compliance, coordinating audits, budgeting, and improving accounting processes through Odoo ERP. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, at least 3 years of relevant experience, and strong knowledge of Sri Lankan accounting standards and statutory requirements. Experience with Odoo ERP and in retail or distribution sectors is advantageous. The position offers the opportunity to work directly with company directors, lead a finance team, and contribute to the growth of the business.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and/or a recognized professional accounting qualification.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably including monthly management accounts and supervisory responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of Sri Lankan accounting standards, VAT, SSCL, income tax, and statutory compliance.
- Proven experience in bank reconciliations, financial reporting, budgeting, and cash-flow management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
- Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, supervise junior accounting staff, and meet financial reporting deadlines.
Nice to have
- Fully or partly qualified in CA Sri Lanka, ACCA, CIMA, or CMA will be highly advantageous.
- Odoo ERP experience will be an added advantage.
- Experience in retail, distribution, inventory accounting, or multi-company operations is preferred.
