AI Conversation Recording Contributor - Sinhala (Sri Lanka)
About the role
This freelance role involves contributing to a Sinhala (Sri Lanka) speech data collection project aimed at supporting the development and evaluation of AI technologies, particularly in speech recognition and conversational AI. Contributors will record or collect spontaneous, natural speech, participate in or capture real-life conversations, annotate speech data, and provide related metadata according to project guidelines. The position requires native-level fluency in Sinhala, advanced English for understanding instructions, and the ability to follow detailed guidelines. Experience with speech recording or data annotation is advantageous but not required. The work is flexible, remote, and task-based, with approximately 2–4 hours of work daily. The project offers timely payments and opportunities for future AI-related projects.
Must have
- Native-level fluency in Sinhala (Sri Lanka)
- Authentic pronunciation and strong familiarity with the target language through everyday use
- Advanced level of English to understand written instructions
- Contributors must not imitate dialects or accents that are not their own
- Strong attention to detail when providing annotations and recording metadata.
- Ability to follow detailed project and recording instructions.
- Quiet room or recording space with minimal background noise
- Computer microphone or headset with microphone
- Reliable internet connection
- Ability to access and use an online recording platform

- Experience with speech recording or data annotation projects is an advantage, but not required
