Manager - Data Analytics & Data Engineering
About the role
The Manager - Data Analytics & Data Engineering at Cargills will lead, mentor, and manage a team of Data Analysts and Data Engineers. The role involves delivering analytics solutions, business intelligence, and reporting to support strategic and operational decision-making. Responsibilities include overseeing data engineering, integration, automation, transformation, and data quality initiatives, as well as driving the adoption and governance of modern data platforms such as Microsoft Fabric and Power BI. The manager will collaborate with business stakeholders, manage analytics budgets and vendor relationships, and support data governance and compliance initiatives. Candidates should have a relevant bachelor's degree, at least 5 years of experience in data analytics or related fields, and strong hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Python, and modern data platforms. The position is based in Colombo and requires in-person work from the office.
Must have

- Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Business Analytics, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of demonstrated experience in data analytics, business intelligence, data engineering, or a related field.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL, Power BI, Python and modern data platforms. (Microsoft Fabric/ Azure preferred)
- Strong stakeholder management, communication, problem-solving and project-delivery skills.

- Should be able to work in person from our office located in Colombo.
Nice to have
- A Master's Degree (MSc, MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification) in a related discipline will be an added advantage.
