Junior Full-Stack Developer
About the role
Appetiser Apps is seeking a Junior Full-Stack Developer to join their high-performance team as they aim to expand from an Australian market leader to a global presence. The role involves building websites using HTML and CSS, collaborating with designers and developers to create web and backend mobile solutions, coordinating project launches, maintaining and growing website features, and leading projects when needed. Candidates should have at least 1 year of post-graduate experience, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and improve. Must have
- Has at least 1 year of post-graduate working experience
- Has a strong work ethic and takes ownership of their learning
- Is hungry to improve every day and open to feedback
- Understands core programming fundamentals and is excited to build real-world applications
- Has built mobile projects (school, internship, freelance, bootcamp, or personal apps)
- Preferably less than 30 years old
- Basic understanding of Git for version control
- Ability to write clean, readable, and maintainable code
- Basic knowledge of unit testing principles
- Understanding of how APIs work (REST fundamentals)
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum or Kanban)
- Stable internet connection (minimum 30 Mbps download / 10 Mbps upload )
- Own laptop/desktop capable of handling development work
- Understanding of databases and basic SQL schema design
- Knowledge of clean coding principles (e.g., SOLID fundamentals )
- Basic understanding of RESTful API design and testing (e.g., Postman, Insomnia, or similar tools)
- Comfortable with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, Vuejs
- Experience working with any modern frontend framework/library
- Understanding of responsive design and reusable component architecture
Nice to have
- BONUS : Experience in Agentic AI
- Nice to have: Experience building projects using any modern backend framework (e.g., PHP/Laravel or similar architecture)
- Exposure to deployment processes or cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar) is a plus
- Exposure to testing tools or static typing (e.g., TypeScript) is a bonus
