Tech Lead Devops (Azure)
About the role
The role is for a Senior DevOps Engineer to lead and support the development, automation, and management of cloud infrastructure and DevOps operations, primarily on Microsoft Azure. The position involves building and maintaining Azure cloud infrastructure, developing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with Bicep or Terraform, designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, and automating deployment and operational processes. The candidate will also support cloud-hosted applications, monitor infrastructure, and collaborate with various teams to ensure secure and reliable operations. The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on Azure experience, proficiency in scripting and automation, and a solid understanding of cloud networking and security.
Must have
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure.
- Proven experience with Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Bicep or Terraform (Bicep preferred).
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, Azure CLI, or Python.
- Good understanding of cloud networking, identity management, access controls, and security.
- Experience deploying and supporting applications in cloud environments.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, take ownership of tasks, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Flexibility to occasionally work outside standard business hours when required.
Nice to have
- Experience with .NET, Azure SQL, SQL Server, or PostgreSQL.
- Knowledge of Azure App Service, API Management (APIM), Load Balancers, and Virtual Machines.
- Familiarity with Azure security services, including RBAC, Managed Identities, Key Vault, and network security.
- Experience with Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
- Exposure to AWS or other cloud platforms.
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or Claude, including familiarity with LLM API integrations.
- Familiarity with Jira and Confluence.
