Oracle Database Consultant
About the role
The Oracle Database Consultant is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL, and MS SQL databases. The role involves managing installations, upgrades, patching, backups, disaster recovery, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting. The consultant will also handle high availability solutions, act as an escalation point for critical incidents, and ensure database security and compliance. The position requires strong technical skills across multiple database platforms, operating systems, backup solutions, scripting, and familiarity with ITIL best practices. Candidates should have 8-10 years of relevant experience and hold a bachelor's degree or equivalent, along with relevant certifications.
Must have
- Oracle Database Administration (including RMAN, RAC, Data Guard, ASM, OEM Cloud Control)
- Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2019/2022, AOAG, SSMS, performance tuning, backup & restore)
- PostgreSQL (replication, streaming replication, PITR, pgAdmin, performance tuning)
- MySQL (replication, clustering, backup & recovery, performance optimization)
- Proficiency in Linux and Windows Administration
- Experience with PPDM, Veeam, NetBackup or similar platforms
- Strong skills in PowerShell, Shell scripting, SQL scripts, and Python
- Familiarity with ITIL processes for Incident, Problem, and Change Management
- 8 - 10 Years of relevant Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Oracle Certified Professional (OCP)
- Microsoft SQL Server Certifications
- PostgreSQL Professional Certification
- MySQL Database Administrator Certification
- ITIL Foundation Certification
