Lead Quality Engineer - Automation & Manual (Data Domain)
About the role
Gallagher is seeking a Lead Quality Engineer specializing in both automation and manual testing within the data domain. This Sri Lanka-based role involves leading a team to ensure the quality and reliability of enterprise data platforms, supporting both production and development activities. Key responsibilities include acting as the primary QE contact for data operations, mentoring QA engineers, overseeing defect triage and data issue resolution, leading testing for data pipelines and reporting enhancements, and contributing to automation using tools like DBT, Dataiku, and Airflow. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in data-centric testing, proficiency in SQL, and familiarity with cloud data platforms and BI tools. Must have
- A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or equivalent experience.
- 6-8+ years of experience with a strong focus on data-centric testing, including ETL processes, data warehouses, and data lakes.
- 3+ yeares in a QE Lead or SME role for data platforms
- Proficiency in SQL and familiarity with data validation tools like QuerySurge, Selenium, or Python-based frameworks.
- Knowledge of cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Azure Synapse) and BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and communication skills.
