Database Engineering Interns
About the role
Onsys Technologies, an Australian IT consultancy, is seeking motivated interns based in Sri Lanka to join their remote technical team as Database Engineering Interns. The internship lasts 12 months and offers structured training, mentoring, and hands-on experience in database engineering, cloud infrastructure, and automation. Interns will monitor database systems, assist with installations and maintenance, support backup and recovery, develop automation scripts, and participate in shift and on-call rosters to support 24/7 client operations. Applicants should have basic knowledge of databases and computer systems, be willing to learn, and have strong communication skills. The role is fully remote and provides exposure to technologies such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, and Microsoft Azure.
Must have
- Basic knowledge of databases, SQL, computer systems and networking.
- Familiarity with Windows or Linux.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn independently.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
- A reliable internet connection and a suitable workspace.
- The ability to collaborate remotely and follow technical and security procedures.
- Willingness and availability to participate in agreed shift, weekend and on-call rosters.

Highlights
