DevOps Engineer/Senior DevOps Engineer - Platform
About the role
IFS is seeking experienced DevOps Engineers or Senior DevOps Engineers to join their R&D Cloud Engineering team. The role involves designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining automation solutions to enhance the reliability and efficiency of IFS's operational platforms. Responsibilities include identifying automation opportunities, implementing DevOps/GitOps automation for cloud platforms, maintaining and expanding existing automations, creating documentation and training materials, and engaging with stakeholders. Candidates should have demonstrable enterprise-level experience in building large, globally deployed multi-tenant cloud systems, designing DevOps/GitOps automation, and working with tools such as ArgoCD, Crossplane, and various CI/CD platforms. A university degree in software or system engineering is essential. The company offers a flexible, hybrid work environment and values diversity and inclusion.
Must have
- Demonstrable enterprise level experience in these areas: Building large globally deployed multi-tenant cloud systems for high-availability and scalability
- Designing and building DevOps / GitOps automation to support platform/application, using tools such as ArgoCD and Crossplane or equivalents
- 3-8 years of demonstrable enterprise level knowledge in CICD Experience (e.g. GitLab, Bitbucket, GitHub Actions, ADO, Jenkins, Bamboo or similar)
- 3-8 years of demonstrable enterprise level knowledge in Container orchestration (K8s, helm)
- 3-8 years of demonstrable enterprise level knowledge in Infra as Code / Config. Mgmt (terraform, ansible)
- 3-8 years of demonstrable enterprise level knowledge in Containerization (Docker)
- 3-8 years of demonstrable enterprise level knowledge in Scripting (Bash, PowerShell, Python, GoLang)
- 3-8 years of demonstrable enterprise level knowledge in Working with cloud-based infrastructure in Azure (specifically AKS), AWS or GCP
- Azure specific areas (or equivalent): AKS, Azure Networking, Azure Firewalls, Azure Front Door, Azure Container Registry, Azure Managed Identities, Azure Storage, Azure AI Services
- 5+ years of knowledge in Linux/Unix/Windows
- GitOps practices with tools such as ArgoCD and CrossPlane
- Full-stack experience across databases, application/web tier, networking/proxies/firewalls etc
- MongoDB (Atlas)
- Kafka (Confluent Kafka)
- Should be a good communicator, competent in effectively communicating with all technical and nontechnical teams
- Learn new technologies and theories and apply them when necessary
- Should be a good team player and have experience working with a geographically dispersed team
- Willingness to accept challenges and show high level of enthusiasm
- A University degree, or equivalent professional qualifications, in software/system engineering is essential

- Quality assurance experience; Testing, Automation and Test data management skills (desirable)
