Assistant Manager - Technical Sales (B2B)
About the role
The Assistant Manager - Technical Sales (B2B) will be responsible for building and growing a portfolio of B2B customers in the packaging industry, focusing on sectors such as food, beverage, household, personal care, and industrial. The role involves identifying and securing new business opportunities, managing the complete sales process, developing strong customer relationships, and providing technical sales support. The candidate will also be expected to monitor market trends, analyze commercial opportunities, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer requirements are met. The position requires a bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline, and 3–8 years of experience in B2B sales or related fields. Experience in flexible packaging or related industries is highly preferred.
Must have
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3–8 years of experience in B2B Sales, Technical Sales, Business Development, or Account Management.
- Proven track record of independently developing new business and managing customer accounts.
- Experience handling customer portfolios with significant annual revenue responsibility.
- Strong understanding of margins, cost structures, pricing, and commercial decision-making.
- Strong negotiation, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to interpret packaging specifications and technical customer requirements.
- Good understanding of FMCG supply chains, procurement processes, and manufacturing operations.
- Strong organizational and pipeline management capabilities.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel for customer visits.
- Commercially minded, self-motivated, and capable of operating independently.
Nice to have
- Experience within Flexible Packaging, Packaging Manufacturing, Printing, Plastics, FMCG Manufacturing, Industrial Sales, or a related industry will be highly preferred.
- Knowledge of flexible packaging materials, laminates, pouches, roll stock, shrink films, and barrier films will be advantageous.
- Understanding of gravure printing, flexographic printing, and packaging production processes will be beneficial.
