About the role

As a Senior Software Engineer on the Loyalty team at qlub, you will be responsible for designing, building, and operating features across the full stack, including customer-facing web apps, merchant admin tools, backend services, and databases. The role involves end-to-end ownership of features, from design to production, and frequent shipping of updates. You will work closely with AI coding agents as part of the daily workflow and contribute to improving engineering standards and AI-assisted processes. The position requires strong experience in both backend and frontend development, particularly with Go or Node.js, React/Next.js, and relational databases. qlub is a rapidly growing fintech company focused on revolutionizing the restaurant payment experience, backed by major investors and operating globally.

Must have

  • 5+ years building production software, with real ownership across frontend, backend and database.
  • Strong backend experience in Go (Node.js is also acceptable).
  • Solid frontend experience with React/Next.js and TypeScript, including state management, API integration and testing.
  • Strong skills with at least one relational database (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server): data modelling, indexing, migrations and query performance.
  • Good knowledge of REST APIs, microservices, asynchronous processing and distributed systems, including queues, retries and idempotency.
  • Hands-on, daily use of AI-assisted development tools. You should be able to walk us through how you use them: where they help, where they fail, and how you verify their output.
  • Experience with Redis or similar caches, Docker, Git and CI/CD.
  • Fluency in English and strong written communication.
  • Experience working in Agile teams, ideally with Scrum.

Nice to have

  • Loyalty domain experience: points and rewards engines, tiers, subscriptions, or coupons and promotions.
  • Experience with payments or fintech.
  • Experience with both Go and Node.js.
  • Experience with event-driven systems and message brokers such as Kafka.
  • Experience with AWS, Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Experience building LLM-powered features such as tool calling or agentic workflows, with an understanding of guardrails and risks.
