About the role

**Job Summary** HCLTech is seeking an experienced **L3 Consultant - Commvault** to join its Infrastructure Services team. The successful candidate will serve as the highest level of technical escalation for enterprise backup and recovery environments, ensuring the availability, security, integrity, and recoverability of critical business data across complex hybrid infrastructures. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in Commvault Backup & Recovery administration, disaster recovery planning, enterprise storage technologies, and advanced troubleshooting within large-scale production environments. **Key Responsibilities** Commvault Administration & Support * Design, implement, configure, administer, and optimize enterprise Commvault Backup & Recovery environments. * Manage CommServe, Media Agents, Backup Clients, Storage Policies, and Deduplication Databases. * Configure and maintain backup schedules, retention policies, replication, archiving, and recovery strategies. * Ensure platform stability, performance, scalability, and high availability. Advanced Troubleshooting & Incident Management * Act as the L3 escalation point for complex backup and recovery incidents. * Diagnose and resolve backup failures, restore issues, media-related errors, storage bottlenecks, and replication failures. * Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive and corrective actions. * Support critical incident management and major outage resolution activities. Disaster Recovery & Data Protection * Develop and maintain backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies. * Conduct restoration testing, disaster recovery drills, and recovery validation exercises. * Ensure compliance with Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs). * Recommend and implement best practices for data protection, cyber resilience, and business continuity. **Required Technical Skills** Strong expertise in: * Commvault Backup & Recovery * Backup Architecture & Design * Data Protection Strategies * Deduplication Technologies Experience & Qualifications * **10+ years of overall IT Infrastructure experience.** * **8+ years of hands-on experience in Commvault Backup & Recovery administration and support.** * Proven experience managing enterprise-scale backup and recovery environments. * Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline. * Relevant Commvault certifications will be considered an added advantage. Preferred Skills * Experience with Veeam, Veritas NetBackup, or Dell EMC Networker. * Knowledge of backup automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python. * Understanding of ITIL processes including Incident, Problem, and Change Management. * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and stakeholder management skills.
