Senior Project Manager – Engineering & Projects
About the role
The Senior Project Manager – Engineering & Projects will lead the planning, execution, and delivery of a major Greenfield Manufacturing Plant Development project in Sri Lanka. The role involves overseeing engineering coordination, plant construction, equipment installation, commissioning, and ensuring operational readiness. Key responsibilities include managing multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers, monitoring project schedules and budgets, reviewing technical designs and contracts, ensuring compliance with standards and regulations, and leading the project from concept to operational handover. The position is based in Colombo 03, with weekly visits to a factory outside Colombo.
Must have
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Process, Industrial, or Civil Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
- Minimum 12–15 years of project management experience.
- Proven experience managing large-scale industrial or manufacturing projects, preferably valued at USD 15 million or more.
- Strong experience in manufacturing plant development, engineering design, construction management, equipment installation, and commissioning.
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from concept and planning through execution and operational handover.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, scheduling, CAPEX management, contract administration, and risk management.
- Excellent leadership, stakeholder management, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Nice to have
- Experience in dairy, food processing, beverage, FMCG, pharmaceutical, or other industrial manufacturing projects will be an advantage.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or an equivalent project management qualification is preferred.
